In Kruger National Park*, South Africa, abandoned trains were given new life. When the park was established in 1926, visitors could access it only by the local railway line. The trains on this line would stop overnight* on a bridge. The next morning, guests would find it amazing to wake up to a [stunning]7 view. In 1973, however, the line was closed because the trains kept 〔running into〕 wild animals. Since then, one of the original trains has remained parked on the bridge. This train has now been [converted]8 into a [luxury]9 hotel with thirty-one African-style rooms. Each room contains a [combination]10 of old facilities and new [decorations]11. If this hotel had not been built, the park’s rich history might have been lost!

1929. By 1955, it was at 〔the height of〕 its use, supplying the [capital]13 with twenty percent of the [electricity]14. The station stopped functioning in the early 1980s. After that, it was left abandoned for more than thirty years. Luckily, [restoration]* efforts began in 2014. In 2022, the new Battersea Power Station was finally opened to the public.
